T&T go down to Venezuela

Trinidad and Tobago’s senior men went down 2-0 to hosts Venezuela in Monday’s friendly in Caracas.

The South American got goals from Salomon Rondon in the 11th  and Darwin Machis on 14 minutes.

For the first goal Machis served the ball for Rondon from the right  before he put the ball past Adrian Foncette from close range

Machis extended the advantage with a strong long distance shot which slipped past Foncette. The Police goalkeeper came up big on a few occasions to deny the hosts.

T&T had a couple good looks at goal with Marcus Joseph and Levi Garcia forcing Wuilker Farinez into action. Garcia’s free kick just before half time which Farinez saved off a deflection. Ataulla Guerra’s long range effort on 59 minutes flashed wide of the upright.

T&T will next face Honduras in CONCACAF Nations League action in San Pedro Sula on November 17th.
