Trinidad and Tobago maintained their 100 per cent win records by each winning their second matches in Group B at 2019 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship in Mexico on Tuesday.
A strong final 25 minutes paved the way for Trinidad and Tobago’s 7-2 win over a resolute U.S. Virgin Islands side. Their clash with Panama on Thursday will determine the group winners and who they face in the quarter finals
USVI was an equal opponent to T&T in the first 10 minutes as Kevon Woodley opened the scoring for Trinidad and Tobago in the second minute, only for Rakeem Joseph to answer for USVI a minute later.
Jesse Bailey scored in the ninth minute to put Trinidad and Tobago back in front but the USVI would not go away and it was even a minute later thanks to Joseph Leto.
However, T&T then scored the final five goals of the game through Hakeem King (11’, 17’), Woodley (18’, 20’) and Bailey (30’).
In the other game in Group B, Panama topped the Turks and Caicos Islands in decisive fashion with an 8-1 victory.
The Canaleros controlled matters from start to finish thanks to goals from Eliecer Garcia (10’, 17’), Alfonso Maquensi (14’, 16’, 24’), Rafael Garcia (23’, 28’, 34’), while the Turks and Caicos Islands picked up its score from Herby Magny (23’).
