Trinidad and Tobago’s Under 17 Women’s Team got their qualifying campaign off to a triumphant start with a comfortable 13-0 win over US Virgin Islands at the Ato Boldon Stadium on Wednesday night.
Grenada dumped Curacao 6-2 in their earlier game of the double header
Aaliyah Prince led the scorers with four goals in the 11th, 17th, 28th and 43rd minutes. Afiyah Cornwall grabbed a hattrick with goals in the 49th, 62nd and 78th minutes with team captain Kara Trotman netting in the 16th and 35th minutes. Other goals were struck by Chrissy Mitchell in the 43rd, Natifah Hackshaw in the 52nd, Maria-Frances Serrant in the 70th and Annika Daniel in the 77th.
Action resumes on Friday with T&T meeting Curacao from 7:30 pm and Grenada taking on USVI from 5pm at the Ato Boldon Stadium.
