The 2017 season of the TT Women’s League Football (TTWOLF) kicked off last Saturday with a Super League Division double header at the New Settlement Ground in Chaguanas.
The day began with a photo shoot with each of the participating teams in the league followed followed by an exciting double header. In the first of the two matches, where Queen’s Park Cricket Club ran away 4-0 winners over Club Sando. Shadeeka Mendes opened the scoring in the 8th minute of the game with past national team player Anique Walker doubling the advantage on 55 minutes. Queens Park got further goals from Ami Joy Daniel from the penalty and Lily Stauble rounded off the scoring.
The final match of the afternoon featured MIC-IT Rangers against the T&T Women’s Under 17 team. This match was evenly contested but the Rangers outfit finished 2-0 winners courtesy of goals by Shakeema Forestine in the 15th minute and Kaydeen Jack 36th minute .
