Things to Know – T&T vs Grenada International Friendly

Both Teams played in a friendly at the National Stadium in St George’s in March, 2016, ending in a 2-2 draw. Marcus Joseph scored the equaliser in the 93rd minute after Shahdon Winchester put T&T ahead in the 25th. Jamal Charles tied it up for Grenada at 1-1  just before the break.Grenada would take a 2-1 lead against the run of play in the 49th minute through Jake Rennie.

T&T had four senior international debutants in its starting team that evening – Jerwyn Balthazar, Tristan Hodge, Elijah Belgrave and Jamali Garcia.

  • Grenada have won two out of the last three meetings between the both teams, one of those wins being  1-0 victory in the 2010 Caribbean Cup, which eliminated T&T from  CONCACAF Gold Cup qualification
  • T&T have won seven out of the previous ten meetings dating back to a 7-0 win in the 1995 Copa Caribe (Caribbean Cup) with Peter Prosper scoring a first half hattrick and further items coming from Lyndon Andrews, Angus Eve, Arnold Dtarika and the late Mickey Trotman.

  • In his 89 international appearances, T&T head coach Dennis Lawrence played twice against Grenada at the National Stadium in St George’s T&T won both matches 2-0 and 2-1 in January 2001, under Ian Porterfield, as they began a near month-long training camp before the start of the 2002 CONCACAF “Hex” which saw the team also enter a residential training camp in England before traveling to Kingston to face Jamaica.
