Mario John appointed to renowned US Orthopaedic group

Former National Under 17 Men World Cup Team doctor Mario John is now part of the
Hughston Clinic, a United States nationally known orthopaedic group. Located in Columbus, Ga., the Hughston orthopaedic group was founded in 1949 by Jack C. Hughston, M.D.and has been recognized both nationally and internationally for quality treatment of musculoskeletal injury and disease. The Hughston Clinic, along with the nationally ranked Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital, is physician-owned and operated.

Now Dr John is a medical director of Hughston Clinic, Oveido in Florida. He also provides coverage for the National Teams.

Mario A. John, MD, graduated from Augusta State University in Augusta, GA with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and a minor in biology. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) medical degree at the University of West Indies.

Dr. John completed his general surgery internship at Harlem Hospital in New York City before completing his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC. He was also the team physician for the District of Columbia Public School System and Howard University, providing coverage for football and basketball games.

A board certified orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. John has published several medical research articles and a book chapter in his subspecialty area of arthroplasty of the hip and knee alongside the foremost national authorities in adult reconstruction.Dr. John is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
